Spider-Noir Review (2026): Is Nicolas Cage’s Dark Spider-Man Series Worth Watching?

If you are tired of the old superhero stories, Spider-Noir is a really cool comic book show that is different from what you usually see. It mixes detective movies, gangster stories and superhero action in a way that looks really stylish and Nicolas Cage is amazing in it. Most critics love the show with scores on Tomatoes being really high and audiences love it even more.

What Is Spider-Noir About?

The show is set in a version of New York in the 1930s. It is about Ben Reilly, a guy who used to be a vigilante called “The Spider”. Now works as a private investigator. When one of his cases gets really complicated and involves guys, corrupt politicians, and people with superpowers, he has to face his past and become a hero again.

Spider-Noir

Spider-Noir is not like the Spider-Man stories that are about high school or modern-day New York. It feels like an old detective movie with Humphrey Bogart, but with spiders and bad guys with superpowers.

Is It Connected to Spider-Man?

The show is based on the Spider-Man Noir books and the character from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.. It is mostly a separate story and you do not need to know about the other Spider-Man movies to enjoy it.

Some key things to know:

It is based on the Spider-Man Noir comic book world.

It has some of the Spider-Man characters and bad guys.

Nicolas Cage was the voice of Spider-Man Noir in the Spider-Verse movies.

The show is about Ben Reilly, not Peter Parker.

So if you are hoping to see Tom Holland or Andrew Garfield you might be disappointed.. If you want to see something new and different with Spider-Man this show is really good.
