Morning Habits That No One Talks About But Can Improve Your Productivity

Do you feel that your productivity has been at an all time low? Or do you feel that your energy is never up to the mark or the same as before now. You always look at the clock waiting for the day to end, so that you can lie down on your bed, curl up and just scroll endlessly until your eyes close automatically. If the answer to all these questions is yes then my dear friend you are in big trouble. But worry not all your problems can be fixed if you can fix your Morning Habits.

Mornings serve as the launchpad of your day, directly affecting your energy, emotional resilience and focus for the day. How you spend your first hour creates a mental blueprint that dictates either a proactive or a reactive state of mind.  If you feel that recently you are not being productive enough then you have to fix your mornings. Here are some morning habits that you can apply to your mornings to improve productivity. Ignore these actions into your daily habits and soon you’ll yourself see the change in your focus and energy level throughout the day

Protect Your First Hour

One of the first morning habits we have been taught is first hour of our day is very important. It is the time period when your brain shifts from sleep inertia, that mode of your brain where you feel gorginess and there is still time before you get into full alert mode. Now what does protecting your first hour mean ? it means that during that one hour you will refrain yourself from any kind of screen exposure. Why ? because if in that period you bombard yourself with social media, email notifications your brain jumps into reactive mode instead of proactive thinking affecting your attention span and energy levels.

How to fix this ?

Simply no screen for the first 60 minutes of your day, read a book magazine or a journal. Avoid using your phone as an alarm, keep your notifications off until breakfast.

Hydrate And Get Daylight

For good health and well being , staying hydrated is essential. An excellent morning routine must include drinking water since when you are in a good mood you are more productive and focused. Create a pattern of staying hydrated in the morning by drinking a full glass of water when you first wake up. To prevent forgetting, the best way to do this is to drink a glass of water before you take your morning tea or coffee.

Morning sunlight reaches the specialized cells in your eyes that signal your brain, especially your body’s master clock. It suppresses melatonin and boosts daytime alertness.

Move before you scroll

The core idea behind this habit is to wake up your body before you fill your mind with information. Physical activity increases bloodflow, improves mood and releases dopamine all this adds up to your daily energy level . Even a light morning workout or a little bit of physical activity, a light workout you don’t necessarily have to go to the gym. Scrolling bombards the brain with information before it is fully awake. You need to prevent that from happening.

Implement “Top Three Task” Method

The core idea behind it is simple : instead of making an infinite to-do list, write down three most important tasks (M I Ts ) of your day and focus on completing them.  The human brain has limited decision making capacity and that’s why when you set up unrealistic goals you end up never finishing them and morale for the day and the next day is down. Large tasks increase stress and make procrastination more likely to happen. This approach aligns with productivity principles that promotes emphasized, deep focus rather than just constant task switching. By applying these methods you can increase productivity and reduce fatigue and stress.

Eat A Balanced Breakfast

We all know how important a balanced diet is for the human body. I am expecting that you all have heard the saying that one should have breakfast like a king. So combine these two and you have your final method to increase your energy, emotions and productivity throughout the day. The body needs glucose for energy , protein to recover muscle and fibre to increase gut health. Experts recommend breakfast containing protein, fibre, and healthy fats because they support sustained energy and improved cognitive functions better than high sugar meals.
