I have watched Blue Lock, my first sports anime. After this, I want to explore more sports anime. Then I came across Haikyu, which is another one of my favourite Sports Anime. Haikyuu has a total of 4 seasons with One Amazing Movie, Haikyuu: The Dumpster Battle. When I watched the first episode of Haikyuu, I was hooked. It’s one of the best Sports Anime you can find. It’s full of energy and passion for sports.
I can guarantee you, you will be hooked too if you watch its first episode. The Anime is about volleyball, how the game is played, although the sport of volleyball itself is not so renowned all over the world, but after watching the anime, you will fall in love with the sport. The Storyline
The story starts with a boy named Hinata, who was inspired by the little giant to play volleyball. Despite being short in height, he wants to become the ace spiker of the team. After completing his junior high school, he joined Karasuno High School, where the little giant had played. In the Junior High School he played a few matches of volleyball but his school was not that good so they lost in the first round but there he met a Guy named Kageyama who was also known as the King of the court. That guy is the absolute beast in the Series, they both end up in the same school.
These two are the main characters of Haikyuu, and the stars of the Karasuno High School. Their Aim was to win the national championship.
One after the other they fought with tough opponents who are skilled in their game so they keep pushing themselves in every game. Don’t forget about their super quick attack which helped Karasuno High to reach at this level. The Super Quick attack is famous all over the court.
After winning in the Miyagi Prefecture and defeating some tough opponents like Aoba Johsai High, Date Tech High, and Shiratorizawa Academy. To get the spot for the national Spring Tournament.

Nekoma High School Vs Karasuno High School
Nekoma is the Biggest Rival of Karasuno not only from their practice match, their rivalry is well known from the decades they call it Cats Vs Crows. Remember when Hinata and Kenma met for the first time, who could have thought later in the series they are going to be each other’s Biggest rival. In the Haikyuu Movie Review the Dumpster Battle Movie, the Match between Nekoma and Karasuno Started and Kayegama gave a Really powerful and amazing serve which shocked everyone. After this the match started and kageyama and hinata went on with their quick attack and karasuno’s second weapon synchronised attack.
Despite karasuno strong start in the game the first half was taken by the Nekoma by a 27-25 score. It was all possible because of the Brain of the Nekoma which is Kenma. He is just not the setter for the Nekoma but he also sees through the game and opponents Movements. One by one he just shut down all the attacks of karasuno. First he started with stopping the Hinata Quick Attack and caging him inside the box. Then he Dissects the synchronised attack and after the 10 Points he stops their synchronised attack fully.
The Comeback of the Crows
Karasuno is not a team that just gives up. Even with Kenma caging him inside the box, Hinata’s passion for volleyball keeps burning. In the second set, Karasuno started to fight back hard against the Cats. Kageyama realised that to break through Nekoma’s solid defence and Kenma’s plans, they need to upgrade themselves and not become predictable.
Kageyama saw that Kenma was trapping Hinata in the cage. But that doesn’t concern Hinata in the least everyone can see that hinata is being desperate for the spike from kageyama. Kenam can also see that look on his face but Kenma thinks he is just cornering the hinata. But only Kageyama knows what Hinata wants; he only wants a good ball to spike at that time.
Hinata is not thinking about his short height or whether he was trapped by Kenma; he only sees the Ball. When Kageyama Sets the Ball High in the centre everyone watching got shocked even Kenma is shocked because one believes that Hinata can spike this high at the centre. Then Hinata remembers what kageyama told him that he can jump higher, as soon as the kageyama heard the sound woosh from the Hinata feets he knew they were going to win. It was an absolute goosebumps moment! The super quick attack evolved right in the middle of the match.
And we can’t forget about the blockers! Tsukishima and Kuroo’s rivalry on the net was so intense. Kuroo is the Nekoma captain who taught Tsukishima so much in the Tokyo training camps, but now they are giving everything to block each other. It really felt like the Crows and Cats were going all out for survival. Karasuno managed to take the second set with their sheer attacking power.
The Final Set
It all comes down to the final set from where the movie’s climax has begun. Both the teams know that they both have evolved to a point and it could be anybody’s game. You can put a whole movie on one side and this last part on the one side. We can see how much time and effort has been put into the ending of the movie.
The animation, graphics and the intense mood of the court is on a whole other level. In the ending we can see kenma who doesn’t care about winning or losing. Suddenly he started to feel the pressure and he started to give his all for his team after seeing this his coach and his teammates understands Kenma wants to win.
I would never forget that in the end we have seen the match from the eyes of kenma because the camera angle is shifted from a third person to second person. The whole end has shown from the kenma point of view and in the end sweat in his hands proved that kenma was enjoying the game and desperately wants to win.
In the end, Karasuno won the match after a super intense rally, but there were no real losers here. The Dumpster Battle lived up to the hype of a decades-long rivalry. It shows exactly why volleyball is such a beautiful sport and why you absolutely need to watch this movie.
