As Gulshan spends time with the team he starts to see how determined, honest and unique they are. This journey slowly changes his view on what it means to be successful, empathetic and what it means to win.
The tone of the movie is hopeful without being too simple. It earns its moments it does not force them.
Aamir Khans Performance
This is one of the subtle performances of Aamir Khans career and it works well for the movie.
Unlike some of his movies, where he plays intense characters Gulshan Arora is flawed, funny and frustrating at the same time. Aamir Khan plays this character in a way that makes him relatable without making him unlikable.
The real test for any actor playing a character who changes is to make the change feel real not scripted. Aamir Khan mostly succeeds in this. His vulnerable moments in the second half of the movie are powerful.
